The Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery and 188bet.com are thrilled to announce the 2025 188bet.com Student Annual Art Exhibition. This juried exhibition celebrates current 188bet.com students' talent, creativity, and dedication by showcasing outstanding works in ceramics, drawing, graphic design, digital art, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. It provides students a valuable opportunity to display their artistic skills to a broader audience, while art enthusiasts enjoy exceptional artwork highlighting emerging artists' potential. We warmly invite everyone to join us in celebrating this remarkable showcase of creativity.

The juror for the 2025 Student Annual is Sara Frantz, an artist and the Department Chair for Art and Design at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

The exhibition will open on Thursday, April 17, 2025, with a reception from 4:30 to 7:00 pm and an awards presentation at 5:15 pm. Artwork awards are partly made possible by the Novy Awards for Excellence in the Classroom. The exhibition will be on display from April 17 through May 23, 2025.

Originally from suburban Chicago, Sara Frantz earned her BS from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a MFA in Painting from the University of Texas at Austin. Her drawings and paintings explore the false barriers that create more imagined than real distances between two points of view. Scenes of hope and want, but also powerlessness, depicted in flat color and faux digital paint marks. Represented by the David Shelton Gallery in Houston and Muriel Guepin Gallery in New York, her work has been included in internationally recognized art fairs, national solo and group exhibitions. In addition, she has attended various artist residencies including Cow House Studios in Ireland, Vermont Studio Center, and NES Residency in Iceland. Frantz currently splits her time between Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo.
