• Student must be at least 18 years old with a valid, non-expired, California class “C” drivers license.
  • Student must provide a copy of their DMV driving history (K-4 Printout) showing a driving record that meets requirements for obtaining the CDL permit and CDL license from the DMV (can be obtained online or DMV Kiosks)
  • Student must attend the mandatory orientation per the California and federal Department of Transportation regulations. (Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, Subtitle B, Chapter III, Subchapter B, Part 380, in effect Feb 7, 2022). 
  • Student must attend all class hours to complete driving history while in the program. Class hours are mandatory, tracked, and reported to the FMCSA. 
  • All student schedule changes must be requested and approved by the appropriate training staff. 
  • Students must contact the appropriate staff to report tardiness and absences immediately.
  • Student agrees and understands that in order to pass all written and application examinations, they must receive a grade of 80% or higher.
  • IMPORTANT:
    • Per California state regulations, a student driver must complete a minimum of 15 hours behind-the-wheel (combination of range and road) in order to sit for the CDL road examination at the DMV. 
    • Student must agree to provide a copy of their CLP (Commercial Learner's Permit) prior to commencement of Part 3 Behind-the-Wheel Operations and Road Driving Skills.
    • Student will not be enrolled into Part 3 of the program without a valid CLP
    • Student must complete Drug/Alcohol screening and physical during Part 2 of the program (Permit Preparation course).
    • Student understands that the following fees are associated with obtaining a CDL:
      • DMV K-4/Driving Record Printout
      • Drug/Alcohol Screening
      • Obtainment of any required documentation (e.g Birth Certificate) and it's associated cost in relation to entering the program 
      • Additional DMV fees for students for any changes needed to the license obtained. See DMV site for fee details.
        If applicable: medication, corrective lenses or any requirement needed to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical
      • Parking: parking permit required to park on campus. Semester pass to be purchased online or pay $4 daily at any kiosk for a one-day pass.
  • State and federal regulations for commercial truck driving programs requires that students be listed in the FMCSA's training provider registry (TPR). Students won't be able to get a CDL if their training provider has not added them to the registry.
